Not many sites actually publish their monthly traffic stats… and many sites lie about this, or word it in a way which makes you believe that they get a ton of traffic… when they don’t… and in many cases your own site probably gets more and you don’t realize it.

I publish my stats. They are what they are… I am pleased with my site’s growth… I love numbers… and I enjoy seeing a project grow. I am really looking forward to August 2006… because so far this month in August, only a week into the month, and I have already received more traffic than in the entire month of July 2006. I was forcasting that it would double, but now it’s looking like I might receive 3 of 4 times the amount of traffic in July… which will be somewhere in the range of 3000 to 4000 unique visitors with over 12,000 total visits. A lot can be seen here… one thing that I notice is bot traffic pulled almost half the total bandwidth of regular traffic. To me, thats pretty cool because that means search engine bots are picking up all my individual pages. The more pages that are picked up increases the chances of a page from your site pulling up in the search results. What is funny… I have noticed my pages displayed on the most off the wall results page… people looking for strange things and because I wrote a certain phrase in my post, the page is displayed. If you run a website or blog site, you should really pay attention to this… because the results are sometimes very entertaining.

It was cool to see that my traffic in July almost doubled the traffic in June. I am not sure why happened in just because there was about 130 less visits than in May. Oh well, maybe just a little hiccup. Things have been rolling in the right direction.
