An Easy Way To Get Traffic To Your Blog Site
Here is a little obvious blog tip that I have to share. So many people are worried about getting traffic to their site… get our link on this page, get our links there… etc. I tend to be the same way. I want traffic to my site just as much as you want traffic to yours.
What I tend to forget is comments. We all want comments on our sites… but how much time is being spent giving comments out on other sites? Most of the cases when you place a comment you are allowed to add your website address in with the comment… and having your link listed there in your comment on another site is probably more effective than having it listed in their links page. For every comment that you make on a blog site, that is one more link that has been left for people to find you site.
Now, I am not telling you to go out and spam everyone’s blog site.. NO! But I am telling people to spend more time actually enjoying their time online reading other people’s posts. If you like the post and can contribute a related opinion or view to that post… that will carry you further than just about any link addition into a links page.
Blog tip again…. enjoy reading other people’s post, voice your opinion, and people will be curious about who you are and what your blog site has to offer. That has been my focus and I can see a difference… More a difference than the hours I was spending trying to get my link listed everywhere.
Also… talk with the publisher of the site… make friends, swap links in the blog roll and subscribe to each other’s RSS feeds. What I have been doing is going to WordPress.com and searching the Tag Cloud for topics that interest me… from there the results page delivers the most current posts… so what has been happening, after reading the post and commenting on it… it seems 9 out of 10 times the publisher is still online reviewing their site and usually will respond back quickly to keep the conversation going…
Have fun and keep Blogging!

This is an excellent post. I am new to blogging, but I comment on quite a few of the posts I read. It definately does make a difference, and all of the blog authors I have talk to are terrific. It really is enjoyable!

Thanks for the comment about my post. Now see… here is an excellent example. After this post, its like second nature to check out his site and see what it is all about (bringing in a visit) and his link to his site is in his comment which will take my visitors to his site who might be interested. To make a comment on someone elses site for now, seems to be one of the more effective things you can do to help your own site grow. The more you comment on other peoples blog sites, the more visits you will get.
Now being realistic, you might get one or two visits from these pages each day, then pretty soon as the original post starts to get older maybe one a day… However, if you comment on 300 other blog sites… you are building on new incoming traffic… natually when the post gets old it gets less exposure… because blogs are not very organized. Older posts might get hit via the search button… All this leads to the kicker… which is when direct links from the post die down, right about that time is when the spiders kick in and its time to cache that page… and when that happens, you would be amazed with how Google pieces together relevant results on a search result page… you will start to get traffic in from that comment because people were looking for the weirdest things… regardless The More Outgoing Content you put out there on the Internet, the more Incoming Traffic you are likey to receive.

[...] Comment on Other People’s Blogs Blogging is all about community. This was something that took me a while to learn. To get traffic to your blog you can’t just write articles, you can, but people won’t find out about it. So look for other blogs and posts that interest you and leave a comment. Most blogs allow you to place a link to your blog, so not only are you commenting on their blog, you’re leaving your link for other people to check out your blog. It’s a win/win situation. Blog The Internet’s post has some tips on finding blogs that interest you. [...]

Ok, five months later, and I would say that by following this article, things are paying off. I can always comment more on other sites, but feel that I comment more than the average blogger. I try to comment on a mixture of sites both popular ones as well as new ones. Yes, Ryan is correct. Relevant links to help with search engine bots.
