Blog Tip: Increase Traffic - Add RSS Feeds On Your Blog Site.

I am sure that you have a blog site that interests you a lot and you view the site daily if not many times through out the day. The content on this site is likely to also be relevent to the content that you publish on your blog site. If you use Wordpress, adding RSS feeds to your site is actually very easy to do. If you have a theme that is widgets ready it takes less than a minute to set up and publish instantly on your site. With a widgets ready theme you can add up to 9. Of course you can manually add the code and add as many feeds as you like… but 9 should be plenty.

The trick that can give you the opportunity to better establish you page rank and link back stats are to actually comment on every post from your favorite blog site (the feed that you are displaying on your site). This creates a two way link between your site, and the post published on your favorite blog site. The two way link is tied together through your comment which allows you to post your URL.

Anyway this will work ONLY if you truely have a favorite blog site that you typically comment on daily. I am not in any means prompting you to start commenting on other blog sites simply to comment in an attempt to gain more traffic. What I am saying… is if you have a site that you like, a site that you frequently comment on anyway…. why not go ahead and add the RSS feed from it onto your site. This does many great things. One you help the site grow by telling all your viewers about it. Don’t be afraid to link people away from your site… even though you send the viewer away via an external link… if they like your site, they will come back. It’s not like you are expecting them to come and never leave… Two it helps both sites grow by completing a link between the two sites. Three it helps your site grow because you will pick up quite a bit of traffic from your favorite blog site.

If you do this consistantly with 9 blogs, assuming you are running wordpress with a widgets ready theme, it would be crazy for your site NOT to get a huge bump in constant traffic. Remember, the key is not to spam, create excellent quality comments on the posts that are being displayed on your site. Display the 10 most current posts per feed. That way when you comment on post number one, by the time it gets to the rank of 10, Google as well as many other bots would have crawled both sites by now and its safe for the 10th post to drop off your published feed list.
