Joseph Lau, a real estate tycoon in Hong Kong purchased a Boeing 787 VIP jet on Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007. Boeing aircraft already has seven sales for these 787 series jets. However, the buyers information has not been published. The orders for Boeing’s new carbon-composite 787-8 model, which would seat up to 250 people if configured as a normal airliner, is valued at $153 million at list prices. Boeing 787 jet sales are going to be on the climb as this jet in a private configuration has 2,404 square feet of cabin space. The regular version of the Boeing 787 Jet is equipped to transport up to 250 people up to 8,200 miles. Joseph Lau is one of Asia’s richest entrepreneurs, with a net worth of about $2.1 billion, according to Forbes magazine. He holds stakes in Hong Kong property developer Chinese Estates Holdings Ltd. (0127.HK) and department store owner Lifestyle International Holdings Ltd. (1212.HK).
