Google May Be Charged With Copyright Infringement
Movies, songs, recordings from television, just to name a few, are pirated, uploaded and spread throughout the Internet. You can find practically anything you want using YouTube.com and Google Video. People are taking action. In France, Google is being subpoenaed for Copyright Infringement and face fines of up to $193,000 dollars. Chump change! Spokesman Ricardo Reyes, said in an earlier statement, “This is a small lawsuit over a single video that appeared briefly“. Reyes has confidence in their case, “We have procedures in place that allow copyright owners to tell us if their content is placed on Google Video without authorization. When we receive appropriate notice, we quickly remove the content from Google Video“. Learn more about the lawsuit and the uploaded video that caused all the ruckus, here.

Oh, I agree with you completely. But I would imagine that it’s sort of like fishing. “Fish do get caught by the hook, and one day that fish could be you”. Deciding to take that chance is up to you.
You can upload previous shows from Lost and Survivor, etc.. or better yet, full movies, and even Microsoft software… make a name for yourself, tell everyone what you are doing. Do all that, and lets see how long it will be until you start eating your three meals behind bars. Well, maybe not behind bars, but perhaps at the homeless shelter, because you lost your house, cars, etc… to pay towards the lawsuit.
I don’t know… I am one to believe that doing anything online, that you normally wouldn’t do in the real world, tends to get you in trouble. You don’t just go into Blockbuster Video and steal their videos. You can’t… buzzers go off, and the cops are called. However, you can’t properly pay for the rental, take it home, convert it, and upload it to the Internet either… Think about it! Doing this will get you busted. It’s stealing… even if you never get busted, it’s still stealing.
