If you want a lenscrafters review I can give you one. I worked there for many years up to the point where they laid me off and replaced my position with someone else who accepted less salary. Despite all that, I do speak high about the quality of eyeglasses that are being produced… sometimes! I honestly depends on the individual store that you visit as each store is run by different managers. When I was a regional manager, I would absolutely dread going to some of my stores as they were a huge disaster. I would invest a lot of time into correcting the problems, mainly with employee training and accountability and make my rounds to other locations.

If the store is run properly according to their guidelines, you are going to get very nice glasses. If the store is falling and has problems, you better watch out. The next time you visit a Lenscrafters store, here are a few signs that you can tell if they are running a tight ship or not.

• If the optician taking your order seems nervous or on edge, walk away and go to a different location
• If your eyeglasses are late, again get a refund and walk away. The lab will tend to try to doctor up your glasses instead of remake them.
• If there is a huge wait to pick up your eyeglasses, get a refund as they have issues with dispensing.
• If there are no certifications on the wall.. go to a different location as the employees hired have zero experience.
• If the frame boards are not filled and there are missing eyeglasses and most are found on the tables and lying loose, walk away and visit another location.
• If you make a phone call and they don’t pick up within a few rings, call another location.
• If you walk into the store and someone doesn’t meet you within a few moments, leave and go to another location.

All in all, Lenscrafters is hit or miss. The individual stores either run really well or they don’t. There is never much grey area. Once a store bounces back up, then it will steadily go back into the dead zone. If the store is well kept and the employees seem clean and confident in their ability and if your glasses were made in time and there are no excuses for this or for that, then you got a good running store.
