Microsoft Releases Game Building Software
I am usually right on top of things like this, so I apologize!
Breaking at Gamefest on Monday morning was a new software product and service from Microsoft that is for people who want to develop and play their own video games. This is truly the first of its kind, complete game development.
We all know of the ‘create a player,’ in the role playing games (which is cool) but this is total game development in which people can focus their creative efforts on building and collaborating.
This technology is called “XNA Game Studio Express” and is based on XNA. This package is free, at least for now (we all know the M$ business model…)! In an effort to address future piracy (once you have to pay for the service), there is an annual subscription to become part of the network and have access to online tools and other benefits.
To read more about the release and download the build visit microsoft.com/xna.

Absolutely! I am sure it will be a pretty penny when it becomes mainstream and a lot of developers take hold!
