More people searched for the website Bebo.com than anything else. Bebo.com is a social networking site, where 22 million users post pictures, pen blogs, and instant-message each other.
The year’s second most popular search was for the largest social networking site in the world, MySpace.
Interestingly enough, the word “Video” was the seventh most popular search.
Web sites like YouTube and MySpace play video now, revolutionizing how we watch and how we share content with each other.
Amanda Congdon, videoblogger for ABCNews.com said, “In the past, people were going to the internet for work or school for research, now people are going online for entertainment…Celebrities, of course.”
For instance, on Google News, Paris Hilton was the most sought after search.
The most popular wedding search was Nicole Kidman’s marriage to Keith Urban.
“Who is Borat” was the number one search with the term “who is” in it.
People are searching for some serious things as “How to Refinance” was the number one “how to” search and “Whatis Hezbollah” was the number one “what is” search.
An example of the internet being truly global, the most popular sports request was the World Cup and in fact, it was the third most popular site on the whole list.
