New Google Groups Beta
New Google Groups Beta
- by Garry Conn
Google Groups is fun… to me, its always been fun. Google groups is where I go to get the “hard to find information”. Whatever it may be, if I have trouble finding it doing a google search, then Google Groups is where I turn to find what I am looking for. The searching capabilities of Google Groups, i would imagine, is equally as powerful as the Google web search. Only difference, is at Google Groups, you are searching for articles or conversations relating to whatever it is you are searching for. This is pretty cool, because you get to read first from a person talking about whatever it is you searched for.
I have been using Google Groups since it launched in 2001. I was a former deja.com newsgroup reader and remember using deja to view different news groups before, I would imagine, Google bought them out… I never really knew what happened there. At any rate… I am very happy with the success of Google Groups. Its a great place to find things, contribute, and meet people. Now, today to top it off, Google has a new or second release on their Google Groups Beta.
Over the years, I have toyed around with creating different Google Groups. I was never too serious about the groups I would create… I created a few here and there mainly to just experience creating groups and learning about the different things you can do with a group. But now… today with the update, this has somewhat motivated me to get a group going that I created a few week ago.
The group I created is called Wordpress Tips and Tricks. Please check out and experience the new Google Groups Beta, and view my new group to check things out in… there are many new features, including having the ability to upload custom web pages and having up to 100 megs of file space for them. Overall, it seems that Google is doing well towards a new version of Google Groups. I wish the best for them and hope they keep improving Google Groups. Again, I want to invite you to Wordpress Tips and Tricks… feel free to write an article after you register with the group.
You comments are welcome here. If you have something you would like to add, or comment on… please post your comment below. I would enjoy reading your response and look forward to your comment.
