Old Post Pages Can Make You Money
Blogs are funny for the fact that many people write killer content on their blogs all for these pages to die on the vine once they bump off the home page.
For many, when you write a post on your blog, you get a surge of traffic to the post in the first few days after publish. After that, traffic will soon die off and the post will never to be read again.
This is partly true. A blog post has two lives. The first life is mentioned above. The second life is the when the post gets bumped off the home page and then it starts to get traffic from search engines.
At that point in time, depending on how much traffic I get from search engines, I may over ride my blog post with a static HTML page for monetization.
Meaning, I will use my existing content on the post, copy it and then paste it into a new template that I have created from scratch for the purpose of making money.
The above is an example of a template page that I made from scratch that over rides my existing blog post URL. I simply created the page writing HTML code with some CSS styling in NotePad. If you don’t know HTML you can use a program like FrontPage or DreamWeaver. You can view the page here. The real entertaining part is running a heat map test which shows me exactly where people click… perverts! LOL!! I have also made a page for YouTube Layouts and quite a few others. Believe it or not, these were both blog posts at one point in time. However, since regular readers don’t read these pages anymore, screw it… I’ll make money off it. And to be honest, these two pages alone make a lot of money.
Check your Google Analytics account to see which of your older pages are hot and if you get enough traffic to these pages to justify the time needed to create a special web page, do it. It can help you make more money each month. You can use Google Adsense, affiliate products and even sell private ads on these pages. If you look closely, you might discover that some of your older post pages have PageRank too!
