Tennessee Cigarette Tax
Not much to report here. If you live in Tennessee and smoke cigarettes, then the new Tennessee Cigarette Tax is going to cause you to pay more for cigarettes.
“These are taxes on cigarettes and other tobacco products, such as cigars, manufactured tobacco and snuff, but not tobacco produced and processed by the grower for the grower’s own use and not for sale. These taxes are reported and paid by licensed wholesalers and manufacturers. “

I guess what this means is if you buy cigarettes you will have to pay huge taxes on them; however, Tennessee government says that if you grow it yourself, they won’t tax you! Idiots… I guess the same rules apply if I decide to grow a potato in my back yard too! lol
Tennessee government claims that by increasing taxes on cigarettes it will cause people to want to quit smoking or not start. they say that this is a health win that will reduce tobacco use and save lives. I think that is a lie. I think that not only does the government want to keep cigarette smoking legal and provide zero support for people that do smoke and want to quit… The government wants to hurry up and kill you but get as much money out of you as possible before you die and before they move on to the next unlucky soul.
If the government was concerned out out healthy, they would provide more tools, more services and maybe even clinics to help smokers who want to quit but can’t.
If you are not a smoker, then you don’t understand. Nicotine is one of the most addictive substances known to man.

In heavy smokers, the addiction can be comparable to the extremely potent drugs cocaine, and even heroin in terms of addiction intensity.

Yet, there isn’t a single Re-Had clinic for smokers. Everyone feels sympathy for a crack head… but people are bothered by smokers. It’s an addiction and it no different than being addicted to crack. Only difference is that smoking is legal, because there is money in it and there is ZERO support for people who suffer because the government wants your money and they want to get as much of it as quickly as possible… then they want to kill you and move on to the next victim.
