What a beautiful airplane. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is built using lightweight composites. The airplane is super light. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is equipped with all new turbine engines making the aircraft about 20% more fuel efficient than its predecessors or other comparable aircraft. The future of lightweight composite material is a plus. One for the simple fact is that it doesn’t rust. And by using composite materials, this will allow for a more comfortable ride as the cabin will have less dry air and more comfortable levels of humidity.
This new airplane is a beast. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner will carry around 210 to 250 people and will cruise around 570 MPH and travel up to 8,200 nautical miles. Amazingly, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner specs are stunning. The airplane is 186 feet long and has a wingspan of 197 feet. I must remind you that a football field is 300 feet long and you could only fit one Boeing 787 Dreamliner inside one. The airplane is simply huge.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner retails for an estimated $200 million dollars. It is reported that there are already over 600 orders placed before this bird has even lifted off into the air! 25 Orders have been placed by a smaller low cost German airline called, Air Berlin making it the single largest European carrier purchase to date. It is reported that Quantas Airlines has ordered over 40 Boeing 787 Dreamliners and is predicted to be the world’s largest operator of the new airplane.
