The Ever Changing Digital Camera

Digital Cameras get better and more powerful everyday. Can digital cameras produce better quality photos than 35MM?

The camera was actually invented by an Iraqi scientist. At the time the conception was called, camera obscura; which is latin for, “Dark Chamber”. It was later refined and become the object as we know it today, the portable camera, by English scientists, Robert Boyle and Robert Hooke in 1665. Hard to imagine that the camera is actually over 300 years old.

However, it wasn’t until recently, when technology started to really kick in and a new type of camera was invented, the digital camera. And sure enough… Jet Propulsion Laboratory, specifically Eugene F. Lally has the first published record of the concept behind digital photography. Later in 1972 it is heard but not proven that Texas Instruments designed a filmless analog camera. But really it wasn’t until 1973 when the first attempt at capturing an image digitally occurred. This event was conducted by Eastman Kodak by an engineer named, Steve Sasson.

Modern day digital cameras produce very high quality pictures that equal as well as exceed the quality of a 35 MM camera. There is more of a demand for digital cameras over traditional 35 MM cameras. And everyday that goes by, the prices for digital cameras get more and more affordable.
