People attribute certain characteristics of your site and link it up with being valuable to them. It doesn’t matter how effective it is to be listed in dmoz, but there is one thing the people can still bank on… An extreme percentage of all sites listed in dmoz have to go through the same application process as you did… if they made it into the directory, there is a reason for it. People know this, and trust that if a site is listed in dmoz, then its a site worth viewing on a regular basis.
