Virtual Frog Dissections
Wow. What’s next in life? Today we live in such a digital and dot Com age to where we have a virtual frog dissection. Which this topic is funny too because for years dissecting frogs is school has always had a lot of hype.
Typically the common debate is about a child who performs flawlessly in school. The child gets a perfect report card and has perfect attendance. But there comes a time when this perfect child can’t muster up the strength and will power to cut a frog open. This child is now put into a position to where he can’t perform the frog dissection and now flunks the lesson which hurts is average in science.
Now, we have a virtual frog dissection. Is this the next movement in technology? Can a virtual frog dissection be as educational as performing a dissection on a real live (dead) frog?
Many people argue that this is a cruel practice and to perform dissections in school is found to be a controversial issue. To balance this controversy, with modern technology we have developed virtual dissections.
In my opinion, I think that a child should have the choice to perform either a real frog dissection or a virtual frog dissection. I don’t think personality, fear of blood, needles, doctors, hospitals and fear of cutting animals should prevent a child from maintaining great academics. The virtual frog dissection is a way to counter balance this? Who knows… but the idea and concept sound spot on.
