Wal-Mart Photo Center VS Walgreens Photo Center
Are you curious to discover which photo center provides the best deal. Here is a review of the Wal-Mart Photo Center and the Walgreens Photo Center. Both places really seem to be neck in neck in providing the best deals online and offline.
Honestly, it is hard for me to decide which photo center is better. Wal-Mart provides the better prices but Walgreens has the better service. All in all it is a coin toss. One thing that disappoints me is the fact that many of my reviews of Wal-Mart are quite positive; however, in my past experience in dealing with their Photo Center, overall it hasn’t been that great.
At Walmart.com, their Online Photo Center is great.Their prices are amazing and they really do beat the prices of Walgreens. However, much is a different story if you process your film or get photo prints in the store.
Wal-Mart Online Photo Center Is Great But Expect Long Waits In The Store
Wal-Mart, as you know, is always quite busy. Usually they do a great job in dealing with high volume traffic; however, their Photo Center doesn’t process high volume all that well.
One example that comes to mind is back a few weeks ago when I was window shopping for a new digital camera. The digital camera that I wanted to look at was locked up. Not knowing who had the key, I got a sales associate from electronics. After waiting my turn to speak with the associate, she told me that the photo department has the key to unlock the cameras. I then had to wait in line for about 20 minutes just to get the photo center sales associate to unlock the camera for me.
During the whole time I was inspecting the digital camera she had to stay with me. During that process there was no one behind the counter to help the other customers, nor was there anyone printing orders. So to me, it seems like things are out of balance. There was too much responsibility on the plate of this technician.
If you want to order prints or even purchase a digital camera, I would suggest doing so online. If you want to review a camera before you purchase it, unfortunately, I would recommend that you review it at another store and then purchase it online at Walmart.com. There really isn’t anything you can do if you need to have film developed. I would bite the bullet and have film processed at Walgreens instead. Time is money and you’ll save money simply by getting your order placed quicker at Walgreens.
Walgreens Photo Center Provides Great Service But Is More Expensive
Walgreens is ok. At Walgreens.com, their Online Photo Center really didn’t impress me as much as Walmart.com. When I visit their site, I am uncertain of their prices. At Walmart.com, I can quickly see what their prices are and what kind of deals they offer. Walgreens.com doesn’t seem to heavily promote their prices which makes it clear to me that their prices aren’t that competitve.
Ordering prints and processing film in the store is a much better experience compared to Wal-Mart. Walgreens is never busy, which I guess that could be a bad thing for them, but it’s great for me, because I never have to wait. I can drop off my film and return in about an hour and it’s all done.
Walgreens is a little more expensive than Wal-Mart, but they are still cheaper that most other places. As I mentioned before, it is really a coin toss if I had to choose one or the other. My advice would be to order online at Walmart.com or visit your local Walgreens store and place your order there.

I would say both of their photo printing is not up to notch. I usually go to Costco to print my photos since their prices are very low, but Snapfish would be something to consider. The quality is VERY VERY high for Snapfish
However, for Walgreens, there are always deals for free prints. I previously saved up about 100 free prints.
