Which Pharmacy Provides The Best Deals On Prescription Medications?

Are you looking to find out which pharmacy provides the best deals on prescription medications? I did a review on four of the most popular pharmacies and you’d be amazed at the price differences. All in all, when you see the doctor and get prescribed medication, I don’t think many people consider choosing the pharmacy that offers the better deal. It’s not like one was shopping for a car, these are pills that make you better. However, prescription medication is expensive and especially for those without insurance. So which pharmacy provides the better deal? Let’s find out.

Overall, it seems that the better deal across the board is in purchasing generic prescription medication. Now, I don’t have a lot of experience with purchasing prescription medication, but in the times that my doctor has prescribed me medication, it seems that when I get it filled, unless the doctor specified, no substitutions, the pharmacist always by default, fills the order with generic. I looked at four of the most popular convenience style pharmacies: Walmart, Kmart, Walgreens and CVS/Pharmacy.

The Walmart $4 Dollar Prescription Program Provides Best Price

The Walmart Pharmacy overall seems to provide the best deals on prescription medication over and beyond any of these other three leading companies. Walmart offers a $4 Dollar Prescription Program that, in my opinion, seems to provide the most savings. With their $4 Dollar Prescription Program, they offer very close to 95% of all most common prescriptions. After reviewing these four company web sites, I was most impressed with Walmart.com. I feel as if they really care to save me money. They are up front and very clear on their pricing and in fact they offer a complete list of prescription medication drugs and over the counter drugs available in their $4 Dollar Prescription Program.

Second place goes to Kmart. They seem to be very inviting just like Walmart; however, their program cost a dollar more. Kmart has a $5 Dollar Prescription Program. Walgreens would be in third place with their $12 Dollar Prescription Program. Last place goes to CVS/Pharmacy. I was surprised to see that they didn’t do a better job presenting their programs and prices. I am still uncertain of their exact prices or programs. This information was indeed, not very easy to find. Their web site seemed to place more importance of processing prescription orders. The best deal I could find at CVS/Pharmacy was their $1 Dollar off Discount. In my opinion, I would have expected to see a much better presentation of the CVS/Pharmacy prescription drug program. Secondly, it would have been nice to see a better dean than a $1 dollar off after you purchase TWO deal. That is just terrible. Needless to say, my orders will be filled at Walmart.
