The first blog according to the opinion of some people was Mosaic’s What’s New Page, started in 1993. However, at that time, officially pages like this were referred to as weblogs. A weblog is a noncommercial or personal website or webpage. Today the word blog, which is actually short for weblog, is commanly referred to as a journal like webpage that is frequently updated with random posts of mixed topics by the author of the website.
The term blog and websites offering blogs did not really become popular unitl 1999 when Blogger was released. Today blogs are everywhere and getting more popular everyday. Modern blog programs allow uploading photos, music, and even video.
