Microsoft Windows Vista RC1 is available for download and can be installed on your system no charge. Microsoft has given the software an expiration date of June 7th 2007. After this date, I believe that you will have to upgrade to the final version and pay for it, or resort back to your previous Windows version, such as Windows XP.

What puzzles me, is the whole public trial program. I would bet that someone will (if it already hasn't happened) create a crack or hack which will remove the time limit from the program basically giving someone a completely new and free operating system.

I am not sure if Microsoft has embedded something into their new OS to prevent this from happening, or more less created a reporting system which will report any misuse to them in a database which would then create a paper trail back to the user who has decided to unlock the time trial period with a hack.

If there is a crack or hack for removing the trial period of June 7th 2007, I personally wouldn't advise using it for the fact that I would bet that Microsoft has something in their OS that will communicate this information back to them.

I have downloaded the 2+ gig operating system last night. I have it burned and ready to install… but I am going to wait a bit and see what people are reporting back. If you have downloaded and installed the trial OS, comment back and share your experience and thoughts.
