YPN and Relevant Ads On Your Site
For the past few days, I have been experimenting around with trying to get relevant ads that more closely match the content of this site. One thing that was holding me back, was my using my real name in the Publish Name section. This was causing the ads to pull up content pertaining to a certain state (I don't want to say the state name because I am trying to purge these ads out).
Anyway, I called YPN this morning… like every other time, they answer the phone within two or three rings… (still amazes me, their quality of support), and spoke with a very helpful rep. After our conversation he advised using just my first name and also informed me that it can take up to 72 hours to see any changes.
Additionally, he mentioned that with blogs sites constantly having new content added to the site, it can be hard for the program to link up with relevant ads, as the content is always refreshing. Having that noted… I might need to slow down a little bit on publishing to this site, and perhaps start limited my posts to about three a day…. which I am not sure if I can do that or not… because it's hard for me not to post.
In any case… YPN is awesome… they really care to see that people are successful with their program and I am totally sold on using YPN as my one and only advertisement publisher program.
I sometimes forget that they are in their Beta stages and they are constantly working daily towards improving their service.
In my opinion, YPN provides much better individual support (I enjoy having the option of being able to contact them by phone) and the payment per click is so much better than Adsense.
If you run a blog or web site, I would strongly recommend that you join YPN. More info can be viewed at http://publisher.yahoo.com

I tried to get in about a month and a half ago, but they rejected me for the beta program. I was only getting about 10 viewers a day at the time though.

How much traffic are you getting now? You should make an effort to try again, because it really is a wonderful program. I will have the few little bugs worked out shortly… I am now utilizing the Ad Targeting feature better now… they walked me through a lot of things with the account and are EXTREMELY helpful.
If you don’t get much traffic, I would wait a month and try to establish a better base… I would say that your site should get approved… I don’t remember, but on the application form, if they have a section for comments… explain to them that you have been successful with Adsense and you want to keep an open mind and be on the look out for something better.
YPN wants your business… but you need to present your application to them in a way which tells them that you want theirs as well.
YPN is the bomb! The payout is amazing, and the relevant ads will improve very soon.
Good luck with it, and let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Like is said on the other post… you can find other alternatives out there other than YPN or Adsense… take a little time to look into what else is available. Take care!
